Our Training Centre and Kayak Shop is situated at Sandringham Harbour on Port Phillip Bay, is an ideal training ground for learning the fundamental kayak skills needed for safe and enjoyable paddling. Whether your dream is to paddle the rivers and bays, or traverse the open seas, the qualified and experienced Instructors at East Coast Kayaking can help get you there!

Even if you have never paddled before we can help you achieve your paddling dreams.

In all our courses we cover:

• Weather interpretation (when to go!)

• Suitable clothing, 

• Safety gear that your are required to carry, and that we also recommend you take

• Paddling strokes, control and stability of your craft

• Self- and assisted-rescues and how to raise the alarm if need be.

What to wear to your Course / Training Session:

New to kayaking or have special needs that require our special attention?

If you are looking for specialised or individually tailor programs outside these course dates we can accommodate you.

We can deliver any skills that you require with our one-on-one instruction (or bring your small group - up to 3 people), from a basic introduction to sea kayaking, adventure race or expedition preparation and more complex skills such as Eskimo Rolling. Our Sea Starter Course can be delivered as a one day private intensive course for 1-3 people.

Our specialised Private Tuition classes are run from at Sandringham mid week on demand or selected weekends.
