ST KILDA TOUR

This tour is a great way to experience our Port Phillip Bay, starting in the magical surroundings of iconic St Kilda.  Meeting on the beach behind the Catani Gardens, we paddle around the newly re-furbished St Kilda pier/marina complex, getting close to the breakwater that's home to its own penguin colony.  Venturing further along the bay, this paddle takes in brilliant views of Hobson's Bay, Williamstown, the city and all of the historic landmarks that make St Kilda such an iconic Melbourne suburb.

A leisurely paddle with only basic fitness and no experience necessary.

SANDRINGHAM AND CERBERUS TOUR

Sandringham's a hub of boating activity and a great place to enjoy some fascinating aspects of Port Phillip Bay.  Starting around the lively and impressive Sandringham Yacht Club, we paddle out onto the Bay, with lovely views over Brighton to the city.  The tour then heads south along the coast, past the stunning cliffs of Red Bluff, down to the HMVS Cerberus wreck, an 1860's warship submerged off Half-Moon Bay.  After exploring the wreck, we'll head back up the coast to Sandringham.

A leisurely paddle with only basic fitness and no experience necessary.

SORRENTO - PORTSEA - POINT NEPEAN TOUR

This tour along the coast from Sorrento to Point Nepean takes in the best of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Starting on the Sorrento foreshore, with it's rich maritime/settlement history, we head along the coast, with unique views of the stunning homes of Sorrento and Portsea.  The half-way point is a stop at the fascinating Quarantine Station at Point Nepean, with many historic buildings from the Quarantine/military past.  After plenty of time to explore and have lunch, we'll head back along this beautiful coastline.  With such lovely beaches and crystal clear water, there's also abundant sea-life and dolphins are a common sight on this tour.

A leisurely paddle with only basic fitness and no experience necessary.

PHILLIP ISLAND TOUR

This tour is along the beautiful coastline of Phillip Island's Cape Woolamai.  Starting on the beach near Newhaven, the beautiful colours and impressive landscapes are immediately apparent.  The further out to the Cape we paddle, the more spectacular the coast becomes, areas not visible from the land.  Passing big sand-dunes and lovely beaches, the cliffs get bigger and the water gets deeper, with some impressive sea-caves, carved by the sea into the ancient pink granite cliffs.  The end of the Cape, with it's towering cliffs, is an ideal turn-around point.  We'll then paddle back to one of those lovely beaches to bask in the beauty, enjoy views down the coast to the south and refresh ourselves for the short paddle back to Newhaven.

A leisurely paddle with only basic fitness and no experience necessary.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

Mother Nature can be temperamental and conditions can change at any time. Good preparation and appropriate clothing are valuable to provide for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.  The following suggestions are recommended clothing for all tours, especially in cooler, potentially wet and windy conditions.

  • waterproof/windproof jacket,
  • thermal clothing/fleece jacket,
  • sunhat/beanie,
  • old shoes/sandals to get wet

You may also consider bringing a water bottle, sunscreen and energy bars/snacks to have whilst paddling.

Sea kayaking is an outdoor activity and therefore exposed to the elements.  The weather, wind, tides, etc, all effect conditions and utmost care is taken to ensure the safety of participants on our tours.  If conditions are not in our favour, we seek to find a safe alternative location and in the case of unsafe conditions, we will reschedule the tour.
