Whether you’re preparing for an ocean ski event, a multi-sport challenge like Coast to Coast, or even a Bass Strait crossing, this program is designed to push you, prepare you, and build the skills and fitness required for whatever your next big adventure may be.

🛶 Pre-Requisite:

Paddle Australia Basic Skills Award
If you don’t have it yet, talk to us about how to get assessed.


🧭 Choose Your Craft:

  • Ski Paddlers: Must have completed an Intro to Ski Course

  • Sea Kayakers: Should complete a Weekend Sea Starter Course


🏋️‍♂️ Session Format:

Each session includes:

  • Weather briefing (using forecast models + whiteboard plan)

  • Structured warm-up

  • Active paddling block (based on forecast and group level)

  • Cool down

  • Wrap-up, social hangout, and head home


🧠 Skills & Topics Covered:

Sessions adapt based on conditions and focus areas, but may include:

  • 📡 Weather interpretation (wind, swell, tides)

  • 🛶 Stability training (boat control & body position)

  • 💪 Forward paddling technique (torso rotation, leg drive)

  • 🏃 Fitness development

    • Interval training

    • Endurance sets

    • Strength-focused paddling

  • 🌊 Self & assisted rescues
